3D Printing

In 2020, amidst the pandemic, I began 3D printing to address the scarcity of masks in my locality. Together with other 3D printers in the area, we worked towards producing durable masks for essential workers. With the availability of commercial masks improving, I shifted my attention to enhancing my 3D printing setup. The addition of a Raspberry Pi enabled me to initiate print jobs remotely, while a webcam facilitated monitoring and recording of the process.

Crypto Mining

Initially, this project was conceived as a lighthearted challenge among friends, to test if a secondhand graphics card bought from Craigslist could be used for crypto mining during the holiday season. However, once the proof of concept was established, the project took on a life of its own and evolved into a comprehensive mining rig with several necessary upgrades. The project required extensive research into areas such as operating system stability, hardware compatibility, power management, and HVAC, among others. I even went the extra mile of drilling holes into the floors to run an Ethernet cord across the house, ensuring seamless connectivity for the rig.

Kali Linux

I set up a Kali Linux home lab to conduct penetration testing on Windows, Ubuntu, and virtual PLCs. After choosing a suitable machine and installing Kali Linux, I used VirtualBox to create virtual machines for the target systems. I then installed the necessary tools on Kali Linux for port scanning, vulnerability assessment, and exploit development.
With the lab set up, I performed penetration tests on the virtual machines to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses, and documented my findings with recommendations on how to mitigate the security risks. This project allowed me to develop my skills in ethical hacking and showcase my ability to set up a complex home lab for effective penetration testing.

IOT Kit

I worked on projects that involved using the Mega 2560 starter kit to explore IoT and acquire a variety of valuable skills. This included gaining a comprehensive understanding of the various components and sensors used in IoT projects, learning how to program microcontrollers to collect and act on data, working with communication protocols such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and developing problem-solving skills through overcoming challenges such as hardware compatibility issues and software bugs. This project provided me with a strong foundation in IoT and equipped me with the skills needed to design and implement various IoT projects in the future.

Through its interactive labs, challenges, and exercises, I have been able to develop my skills in areas such as penetration testing, network security, and digital forensics.
